Posted: Thursday, January 9, 2014

China-based Unisun said it has connected to the grid three photovoltaic (PV) power plants in Romania with a combined installed capacity of 19.59 megawatts (MW).

The three power plants are expected to generate up to 8.0 million euro ($10.9 million) in electricity and subsidy revenues annually, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

The Dej, Setra and Clue plants have installed capacities of 5.98 MW, 6.4 MW and 7.14 MW, respectively.

The plant in Dej, in the northwestern county of Cluj, is expected to generate 7.0 million kilowatt hours (KWh) of electricity annually, meeting the daily power needs of 4,000 local households. The Setra and Clue plants in the central county of Brasov are expected to generate 15 million KWh of electricity annually, meeting the daily power needs of 10,000 local households.

The investors in the three solar parks are Unisun and Zhejiang International Trade New Energy Investment.

Unisun Energy GmbH, the German division of Unisun, serves as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor, and the Romanian division of Unisun is responsible for green certificate sales, operations and maintenance.

Unisun, a member of Wuxi Guolian Development Group, is a global developer of solar power plants and provider of green electricity.
