IEA: Review of German Energy Policies Calls for Cost Reductions, Investment in Networks and Closer Regional Co-Operation

In a review of German energy policies launched today, the International Energy Agency commended Germany for its commitment to developing a low-carbon energy system over the long term – in particular its comprehensive energy strategy, ambitious renewable energy targets and plans to reduce energy consumption. The report noted that Germany has successfully implemented a broad suite of robust energy policies across all sectors notably in energy efficiency and climate change
7th S.E. Europe Energy Dialogue Programme Announced

The Institute of Energy for SE Europe (IENE) has announced the detailed programme of the “7th S.E. Europe Energy Dialogue”, which will be held in Thessaloniki at the MET Hotel on June 19 – 20, 2013. As in past years, IENE’s annual Energy Dialogue conference is being organized in association with the World Energy Council (WEC). This year, the Energy Dialogue will focus on «The New Regional Parameters» vis-a´-vis the latest developments of the evolving natural gas and electricity markets of the region, as well as the ever deepening energy partnerships of on S.E. European countries with the Caspian Sea, the East Mediterranean, the Middle East and North Africa

Turkey: Gasoline Distributers Raise Prices by kr 10

Gasoline distributers have raised gas prices by TL 0.10, bringing the maximum price of gas per liter up to TL 4.73, the Anatolia news agency reported. With the change in prices, a liter of 95 octane unleaded gas now costs between TL 4.72 and TL 4.73 in the provinces of Ankara, İstanbul and İzmir. Prices had previously ranged between TL 4.62 and TL 4.63. The cost of diesel, however, remains the same

Itochu, Partners Win Y350B Turkey Refinery Order -Nikkei

A consortium comprised of Itochu Corp. (8001.TO) and foreign firms won an order from the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) to build Turkey 's largest oil refinery in the western city of Izmir , the Nikkei reported in its Monday evening edition. Itochu will procure equipment from Japanese plant manufacturers for the roughly Y350 billion ($3.4 billion) project, while the Japan Bank for International Cooperation will help SOCAR raise the necessary funds
