15th «Energy & Development» Conference Attracts Top Executives from Greek Companies and International Organizations

Τhe detailed programme of the 15th “Energy & Development" Conference, that IENE is organizing on November 22 and 23 2010 at the “Ethniki Asfalistiki” Conference Centre (103-105 Syggrou Ave.) in Athens, is now available on www.iene.gr

The keynote speech in the opening session will be given by the Minister for Environment, Energy and Climate Change, Ms. Tina Birbili, to be followed by two prominent representatives of the Greek energy sector: Mr. John Kostopoulos, CEO of Hellenic Petroleum and Mr. Harris Sahinis, President and CEO of Public Gas Corporation SA (DEPA).

Several panels on a number of crucial issues of the current energy agenda, ranging from the daily electricity market to financing of energy infrastructure projects and RES investments to grid development and the opening-up of the natural gas market, will be the main feature of the 15th “Energy & Development" Conference. The Conference is already attracting considerable interest from private and public sector energy companies and professionals, as well as from well-known academics.

International energy developments will be covered by Dr. Leo Drollas for CGES in London, Dr.Gul from the International Energy Agency (IEA) in Paris and Mr. Hans ten Berge, Secretary General of Eurelectric, in Brussels. The key energy developments in SE Europe will be covered in a special session which will deal with regional energy issues. The results of IENE’s long-awaited study on “SE Europe Energy Outlook” will also be presented in this session.

The role of this major IENE event in promoting the dialogue on the Greek energy agenda is also underlined by the support from leading energy companies.
